Apple and Competetion

 Competition is something every company worries about, but apparently that isn’t something Apple needs to worry about. With the popularity of Apple, when something new is released, everyone goes out and buys it. The products of Apple symbolize as being modern, and in the 21st century, you have to stay current with everything that comes out. Apple makes so much money due to having retail stores all around the world. International sales are where Apple makes the big bucks. Macs are very popular around the world, sales were up 8.6%, which is better than the US.  Since there are so many retail stores, Apple makes direct and straight money through them which helps adds a lot of money to Apple and with it, to the economy.

When a product is highly waited for, and once it is released, people buy it really fast, and it brings money into the economy. The iPhone 4 was a product that Apple kept pushing the release date back. Many glitches and small bugs caused the iPhone to not be released, and people had been waiting so long, so they were already many pre-ordering done for the iPhone.  When a certain product, such an electronic device is anticipated for, the economy flourishes from it. With the iPhone being released, sales went up at Verizon Wireless also. Overall, Apple products bring a lot of money into the economy, and Apple doesn’t let the current state of the recession bring it down.

The iPad

Apple has many different strategies to stay on top. One strategy that they use is price, and with price, no one can seem to match it. The release of the iPad was something that was much anticipated because everyone was anxious to see what the price Apple would release it as.  $500 for an iPad caused everyone to be in shock. No one seemed to understand how Apple could be able to afford the iPad to make profit at such a low price. With Apple being very popular, everyone seemed to buy the iPad and the company didn’t have any decline in profits. With the price being so low, others companies cannot match up to Apple and they are suffering. With having so many retail stores worldwide, Apple can afford to sell something at a low price, while competing companies can’t.
